To help you study more effectively we use a well proven and documented system designed by Sebastian Leitner. His idea is that we need to repeat words over and over again to prevent us from forgetting them. This is easily done by moving flash cards up and down in a box.

In this software you do not need to move your cards around, even though you can.( You can print the characters as flash cards and study off line.)

By default every new character/word is given the status 0 meaning that the word/character have not been studied before. Status 0 is in the middle with grade 2(well known) and grade 1(little less known) under and grade 4 (unknown) and grade 3 (almost forgotten) above. 0 is the grade and (26) is the number of words in that grade.

When studying the words/characters you can mark the word as known or unknown.

You can create lists that contain words of just one grade or many different grades. It is very easy to choose the grades and lists you want to combine. When taking tests on such a list, your result will change the status on the original underlying list as well.

As shown in the picture you can take cards with e.g. unknown words from different study list and combine them to a new list. When studying this list you can update the underlying lists. You can choose how many days it will take before a card is marked as less known. The program takes care of remarking the cards automatically.
