Chinese radicals

Radicals. All Chinese characters are a radical or have a part of it, which is a radical. By learning more about the Chinese radicals you can make it easier for your self to understand new characters. Often the radical can tell you something about the meaning of a Chinese character. There are in all 214 radicals. Some of them are under debate if they should be taken out of the official list. If you want to find a Chinese character in a dictionary, you have to know what part of the character is the radical. You search the dictionary by radical and additional strokes in the character.
